Fall 2011 Package Testing & Cold Chain Packaging Workshop
October 11-12, 2011

DDL and Cryopak will be hosting their Fall Package Testing and Cold Chain Packaging Workshop on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 11-12, 2011 at our eastcoast laboratory and manufacturing facility in Edison, NJ.

The fall seminar will include presentations on Distribution Simluation by DDL's packaging Engineer, Peter Johnson and Test Method Validation by our Director of Operations, Corey Hensel.  Al Gale, DDL's product and material testing engineer will also be presenting on Materials Used in Your Sterile Barrier System for Shelf-Life Products

In the afternoon, attendees will break into small groups for test method workshops and will rotate stations every 30 minutes.  The following test methods will be conducted during small group workshops;

• ASTM F88 - Peel Seal Testing
• ASTM F2096 - Bubble Leak Testing
  
• ASTM F1929 - Dye Leak Testing
  
• ASTM F1886 - Visual Inspection Testing

The second day of our seminar will be focused on cold chain packaging. Cryopak's Cold Chain presentations and interactive workshops will be lead by Cryopak's Technical Service Manager, Anthony Alleva. The presentation, titled Thermal Transportation Package Design and Use of Thermal Modeling Software, will focus on the following points;

• Steps to consider when developing a protocol
• How thermal modeling is used in transport packaging design work
• The effects of engineered phase change materials in package design
• Review the tradeoffs and considerations  to select or develop a temperature profile
• Use of  insulating materials in package design

The morning sessions of our seminar will take place at the Sheraton Hotel near our facility in Edison, NJ and the second half of the day will take place at our eastcoast laboratory and manufacturing facility.

4:00 pm - 6:00 pm - Happy Hour and Networking Event at the Sheraton Hotel in Edison, NJ

Day Two:

8:30 am - 3:00 pm - Presentations and Workshops
